DOS and Windows Will Fail Hoax

Below is a copy of the original hoax message that has been circulating on the internet.

Bill Gates and Microsoft have all the MS-DOS and Windows programs rigged so that at midnight on December 31, 1999, everyone using them will suffer a major crash which will effectively shut down their system and not only make all the data on the drives irretrievable, but also make it impossible to reinstall anything on the drives (reinstalled DOS or Windows will only crash again). If you ever want to use your system again, then you will have to buy some over-priced "fix-up" software from

them.

Please ignore any messages regarding this hoax, and do not pass on any messages regarding it. Passing on messages about this hoax serves only to further propagate it.
